Opportunity

Meraki Wellness is seeking an exceptional Spa Therapist who is excited to be part of a company with heart. We seek an experienced professional with excellent practical, communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, we expect our Spa Therapist to have a caring, nurturing, and intuitive approach.

Many of our guests will be avid spa enthusiasts and diligent in their quest to maintain balance and harmony in their lives, and most importantly, they desire a more personal experience that leaves them feeling renewed, transformed and appreciated.  We aim to provide the service and facilities to support this desire in ways that transcend even their imagination.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Certified Beautician or Spa Therapist at CIDESCO qualified or equivalent
  • Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology
  • Trained in Swedish Massage and Facials
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a spa therapist in a luxury 5* spa
  • Fluent in English – excellent verbal and written skills. Speaks with compassion and empathy.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a spa therapist in a luxury 5* spa
  • A professional, confident team player who is kind, charismatic and positive
  • Detail oriented. Passionate about exceptional guest service – ideally, Forbes 5* experience
  • 5* personal presentation – an excellent example for those embarking on a wellness lifestyle
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure and perform well
  • Passionate about wellness, health and beauty.
  • A holistic, healing approach to wellness
  • A caring, nurturing therapist who performs intuitive treatments with heart
  • Discrete and responsible
  • Ability to operate wellness and spa equipment

Desirable

  • Certified Massage Therapist – highly desirable
  • Experience with Zenoti Spa Software
  • Sales and customer service training are an advantage
  • Qualifications and experience in health, safety and first aid
  • Experience in a luxury Private Members’ Club
  • Pre-opening spa experience in a luxury environment
  • Qualified in Deep Tissue Massage and Aromatherapy Massage
  • Trained in high-end, intimate waxing
  • Trained in luxury manicures and pedicures

Additional Requirements

The above is a description of the general duties of the Spa Therapist role. Other duties may be required, depending on operations or at the request of the Meraki Wellness Senior Management Team. Given the nature of the industry, all employees at Meraki Wellness must be willing to work shift hours, including evenings, weekends, bank, and public holidays, when the operation requires it.

Objective

  • Optimise guests’ and members’ satisfaction by providing exceptional treatments and excellent service throughout their Meraki experience
  • Consistently uphold all Meraki Wellness standards, guidelines, and policies
  • Consistently follow all Meraki Wellness practical treatment protocols taught by either the Meraki Wellness team or their chosen trainers
  • Implement all knowledge and theory required to perform the Meraki Wellness Spa therapist role successfully
  • Be a conscientious Meraki Wellness team member. Actively build and maintain supportive relationships with guests, colleagues, and Spa management

Responsibilities

General Operations

  • Understand and consistently implement the Meraki Wellness concept and culture.
  • Always present a healthy and well-cared-for appearance, showcasing immaculate grooming and hygiene standards
  • Establish and maintain exceptional customer relationships with members and guests
  • Maintain the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality for all guests of Meraki Wellness
  • Be present at all meetings as directed by Spa Management
  • Stay well informed of all services and spa news to best support each guest’s journey effectively and efficiently
  • Be confident in approaching Spa Management with any concerns or comments that aid the successful running of Meraki Wellness. This can include anything from positive feedback and suggestions to facility, equipment, or service standards issues
  • Be aware of guest privacy at all times especially when engaged in duties in guest areas, such as lockers, wet and relaxation areas. Always maintain discretion and awareness of guest movement

Guest Journey

  • Ensure guests are provided with the highest level of comfort and service
  • Create an authentic, warm and welcoming environment when guiding the guests through their journey
  • Be able to communicate clearly with the guest during all stages of their journey so they can genuinely place themselves under your guidance and care
  • Uphold all operational and treatment standards per the Meraki Wellness SOPs and guidelines
  • Confident in performing consultations and working with health assessment forms. Confident to adjust and deliver all treatments according to the information provided by the guest
  • Maintain the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness of all treatment rooms and guest areas
  • Be respectful, responsible, and sensible with the amount and usage of spa products and supplies
  • Be fully knowledgeable and able to tailor all products used in beauty, facial, body and massage treatments at the Spa according to the guest’s individual needs

Retail

  • Actively support the spa operation in reaching retail goals
  • Create authentic product recommendations. Prescribe products that will help your guest reach their desired goals
  • Be well informed on all aspects of retail products, including their benefits, USPs, how to use them and their price
  • Be confident in dealing with guest retail requests and queries and know where to obtain information if unsure of the answer
  • Handle retail stock responsibly and sensibly
  • Report any issues in the retail area that may result in a loss of sales, such as a popular item that is nearly out of stock

Package on Offer

    • Base salary $36,000 US$ per annum
    • Gratuities on all treatments 15%
    • Commission on personal skincare sales 10%
    • Quartey Sales incentives to support personal skincare sales
    • Estimated On-Target-Earnings $60/70k per annum
