The Spa at SCHLOSS Hotel Roxburghe now has an incredible opportunity for a Spa and Leisure Manager to join them and position the new Spa at SCHLOSS Roxburghe as a leading luxury Spa and Leisure venue in Scotland, and ensure that its reputation and gravitas are maintained at all times.
This will be achieved through creating unique experiences for our guests in a relaxing and inspiring environment. The main factors for success will be operational excellence, brand awareness and reputation management, business acumen, financial soundness and interpersonal skills.

Proven Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience within a luxury spa and wellness environment
- Pool plant qualification and/or experience is desired
- First aid and Pool Responder training and qualifications are desired although training will be provided
- Proven experience with figures and P&L
- Previous spa therapist experience highly desirable
- Proven experience in leading and managing a large team
Your Key Responsibilities:
Strategic
- You will create and implement the vision and strategy for the spa and leisure facilities, coordinating all aspects of the team and operation
- Establish and implement the spa’s sales and marketing strategy and yearly budget
- Establish and develop key partnerships within the spa industry and local and regional areas
- Drive revenue from additional revenue sources such as spa product sales, Food & Beverage, and membership enrolments to generate increased revenue
- You will keep up to date with current industry developments and identify new trends to introduce to the department
- You will suggest and implement innovative sales customer service ideas to develop and grow the Spa and Leisure Club
- Maintain and curate relationships with business partners and stakeholders
Spa & Leisure Management
- Ensure that the spa and leisure comply with all COSHH and Health & Safety standards and that the team are fully trained in all aspects, including plant room, pool chemicals, pool responder course and first aid.
- You will ensure that financial targets are met through ongoing monitoring of results, and creative solutions to improve profit
- You will be responsible for the Health & Safety of guests and employees in the spa and leisure and promote safety awareness at all times
- Work with the maintenance team and external contractors to monitor and maintain spa facilities and equipment while monitoring pool chemicals as required by H&S regulations
Keep abreast of stock status and take action where required
Customer Service and Experience
- You will ensure that all products and services delivered by the spa and leisure meet and exceed guest expectations
- You will ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations of the spa and coordinate the delivery of spa services including spa, retail products, fitness & wellness, spa treatments, reservations, reception desk
- You will meet targets for hotel performance KPIs and guest satisfaction scores
- Build customer loyalty through product and customer service excellence
Team & Leadership
- You will provide day-to-day leadership to your team, by motivating, encouraging and driving the team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve revenue goals
- You will be responsible for the management of your team members, including providing regular feedback, and performance reviews and encouraging personal progression
- Establish a passionate and driven spa and leisure team and take ownership of the recruitment of new team members
- You will identify training needs and opportunities and share your own expertise with your team

- The potential earnings for this role is £37,400.00 per year. This comprises a basic rate £35k plus an estimated potential gratuity of £2.4k (based on a 40-hour contract)
