Meraki Wellness is now seeking a Personal Trainer / Fitness & Wellbeing Assistant to join their team at their stunning wellness destination in Grand Cayman, which is due to open soon.

Opportunity

Meraki Wellness is seeking an exceptional Fitness and Wellbeing Assistant who is excited to be part of a company with heart. The Fitness & Wellbeing Assistant will support the Fitness Manager with all pre-opening requirements alongside the owners of Meraki Wellness and Spa management. Once open, this role will be an active member of the Fitness department. This role will assist all day-to-day operations on the fitness floor and lead by example by holding creative fitness classes, personal training sessions and fitness assessments for members and guests. A small and exclusive membership where privacy and discretion are paramount.

2024 Goals for Meraki Fitness & Wellbeing Assistant

• Assist with creating and developing a unique fitness offering for Meraki Wellness.
• Assist with managing and maintaining the gym and all fitness facilities and equipment.
• To be part of the fitness team. Carry out one-on-one and group PT sessions, hold fitness classes and perform fitness assessments for members and guests.
• Assist with the relevant operational procedures to ensure the delivery of a personal and professional service befitting the Meraki Wellness vision and values.
• Promote and uphold the philosophy and culture of Meraki Wellness for all employees and guests.
• Maximise guest satisfaction while keeping with Meraki Wellness standards.

Qualifications & Qualities

• Certified Level 3 Personal Training qualification or equivalent recognised by CIMSPA (UK) / EREPS (EU) or equal to. Preferred Degree level graduate.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in fitness modalities & PT
• Certified qualification in a further health or wellness modality such as yoga
• An interested, active member of the Global Fitness & Wellness Industry
• Ability to understand and integrate a diverse range of wellness concepts to gain maximum health results for guests, including fitness, alternative therapies, diagnostic tools, education, and nutrition
• Qualifications and experience in health, safety and first aid

Desirable

• Several Fitness Modalities with Qualifying Hours
• Yoga – Barre-Matt Work MOTR- HITT- Controlology
• Experience with Spa & Fitness Software
• Experience in a luxury Private Members’ Club or similar

• Detail oriented. Passionate about exceptional guest service – ideally Forbes 5* experience.
• 5* personal presentation – an outstanding example for the team and those embarking on a wellness lifestyle.
• Ability to keep calm under pressure and perform well
• Consistently endeavours to deliver excellence and service
• A strong communicator. Fluent in English – excellent verbal and written skills
• Proficient in sales and marketing. Excellent knowledge of the global wellness and fitness industry
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Fitness

• Implement The Meraki Wellness concept and programs with health, happiness, vitality, and longevity at the heart of the experience. This includes fitness programs, gym experiences, classes, and personal training.
• Carry out one-on-one and group PT sessions, hold fitness classes, and have a compassionate character to guide clients and members toward their desired goals in a highly professional and personable manner.
• Monitor the progress of clients and maintain client files on a daily basis
• Build and maintain good relationships with all internal departments
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with the global fitness community
• Promote positive employer-employee relationships. Promote high levels of morale, motivation, and performance.

General Operations

• Support the Fitness Manager in all fitness-related matters
• Follow guidelines to ensure the quality & efficiencies of all services in the fitness operation
• Ensure all departments are aware of the offers and services available within the gym and fitness at Meraki Wellness

Guest Services

• Understand and consistently implement the Meraki Wellness concept and culture throughout the operation and with all team members.
• Establish and maintain exceptional customer relationships with members and guests
• Be active on the floor, conducting tours and dealing with guests and members
• Continuously assess the guest experience to ensure all guest expectations are met
• Support the membership concierge in caring for all Meraki Wellness members
• Ensure you are always presentable and in uniform. Be professional, courteous, and vigilant in all situations, knowing that you represent the brand inside and outside the building.

PR & Marketing

•  Support the Fitness Manager in executing fitness and wellness marketing plans

Finance and Reporting

• Supporting the Fitness Manager in achieving and maintaining financial targets and budgets

HR

• Assist with the induction of all new fitness and integrative wellness staff, including temporary visiting practitioners and teachers, alongside spa owners and HR.
• Participate in performance reviews and goals for all fitness staff
• Ensure the Meraki Wellness vision, mission and values are well understood and demonstrated

Additional Requirements

The above is a description of the general duties of the Fitness & Wellbeing  Assistant role. Other duties may be required depending on the operation or at the request of the Meraki Wellness Team. Given the nature of the industry, all employees at Meraki Wellness must be willing to work shift hours, including evenings, weekends, bank, and public holidays when the operation requires it.

Package on Offer

• Base salary of $30,000 US$ per annum
• Fitness Classes gratuities of  15%
• Estimated On-Target-Earnings $60/75 per annum
