Meraki Wellness is now seeking a Beauty & Nail Technician Spa Therapist to join their team at their stunning wellness destination in Grand Cayman, which is due to open in early 2025.

A professional beauty specialist who enhances the overall wellbeing and appearance of each guest through a variety of beauty treatments and holistic therapies that encourage renewal of mind, body and soul.

An extraordinary Beauty & Nail Technician to join our outstanding team.   Together, we will set a new standard of excellence in the manicure and pedicure services. As well as lead our team in achieving elevated standards of care and customer service.

With experience in renowned techniques inspired by industry leaders Bastion Gonzalez and Margaret Dabbs, the Beauty/Nail Technician Therapist will ensure each guest receives a luxurious, flawless experience from the beginning to the end of their Meraki Wellness experience.

Many of our guests will be avid spa devotees. They will expect personalised treatments that provide the aesthetic result they require, as well as a tranquil experience that supports their quest to maintain balance and harmony in their lives. Each guest at Meraki Wellness must leave feeling deeply valued, relaxed and renewed.

General Responsibilities

Operations

• Understand that a professional, high-quality treatments constitute the core experience the soul – of the Spa and act accordingly, with respect and a high degree of personal responsibility and professionalism in the role of Beauty and   Nail Technician Therapist and when giving treatments, at all times.
• Provide exceptional beauty services and spa treatments, such as manicures, pedicures, waxing, hand and foot massage, facials and body treatments.
• Understand and consistently implement the Meraki Wellness concept and culture
• Always present a healthy and well-cared-for appearance, showcasing immaculate grooming and hygiene standards.
• Maintain the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality for all guests of Meraki Wellness
• Be present at all meetings as directed by Spa Management
• Stay well informed of all services and spa news to best support each guest’s journey effectively and efficiently.
• Be confident in approaching Spa Management with any concerns or comments that aid the successful running of Meraki Wellness. This can include anything from positive feedback and suggestions to facility, equipment, or service standards issues.
• Establish and maintain exceptional customer relationships with members and guests.

Guest Journey

• Ensure guests are provided with the highest level of comfort and service
• Create an authentic, warm and welcoming environment when guiding the guests through their journey.
• Be able to communicate clearly with the guest during all stages of their journey so they can genuinely place themselves under your guidance and care.
• Uphold all operational standards and treatment standards as per the Meraki Wellness SOPs and guidelines.
• Confident in performing consultations and working with health assessment forms. Confident to adjust and deliver all treatments according to the information provided by the guest.
• Maintain the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness of all treatment rooms and guest areas
• Be respectful, responsible, and sensible with the amount and usage of spa products and supplies
• Be fully knowledgeable and able to tailor all products used in beauty, facial, body and massage treatments at the Spa according to the guest’s individual needs.
• Be aware of guest privacy at all times especially when engaged in duties in guest areas, such as lockers, wet and relaxation areas. Always maintain discretion and awareness of guest movement.

Retail and Stock

• Actively support the spa operation in reaching retail goals.
• Create authentic product recommendations. Prescribe products that will help the guest reach their desired goals.
• Be well informed on all aspects of retail products, including their benefits, USPs, how to use them and their price.
• Be confident in dealing with guest retail requests and queries and know where to obtain information if unsure of the answer.
• Handle retail stock responsibly and sensibly.
• Report any issues in the retail area that may result in loss of sales for example, a popular item that is nearly out of stock.
• Manage the inventory of nail polish colours, tools, waxing and beauty supplies. Provide these stock counts to the Spa Manager and advise reordering as necessary.

Objective

• Optimise guests’ and members’ satisfaction by providing exceptional treatments and excellent service throughout their Meraki experience.
• Consistently uphold all Meraki Wellness standards, guidelines, and policies
• Consistently follow all Meraki Wellness practical treatment protocols taught by either the Meraki Wellness team or their chosen trainers.
• Implement all knowledge and theory required to successfully perform the Meraki Wellness Beauty, Manicure & Pedicure Therapies.
• Be a conscientious Meraki Wellness team member. Actively build and maintain supportive relationships with guests, colleagues, and Spa management.

Requirements

• Qualification: CIDESCO or equivalent spa/beautician qualification and a professional certification as a nail technician
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a luxury, five-star Spa or salon environment with a strong background in advanced manicure and pedicure services
• Expertise in Elevated Techniques: Prior training or experience with Bastion González and Margaret Dabbs techniques is highly desirable, showcasing a commitment to perfection in hand and foot care
• Exceptional Client Care: Unwavering commitment to five-star service, with a strong focus on the client experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a self-motivational, compassionate
• Highly skilled at performing exceptional manicures and pedicures
• Incredible attention to detail. Immaculate painting skills with both standard and gel nail polishes
• Extremely confident with filling, buffing, and shaping the nail to promote healthy cuticle and nail growth
• A holistic beauty expert. Skilled in elevating traditional beauty practices to be as luxurious as possible, including exfoliation, soaking, massage, paraffin wax and mask application

Desirable

• Bastien Gonazlez, Margaret Dabbs or mentoring/experience from a professional nail technician
• Certified Massage Therapist – highly desirable
• Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology
• Trained in Swedish Massage and Facials
• Qualified in Deep Tissue Massage
• Experience with Zenoti Spa Software
• Sales and/or customer service training an advantage
• Qualifications and experience in health, safety and first aid
• Experience in a luxury Private Members Club
• Pre-opening spa experience in a luxury environment
• Ability to operate wellness and spa equipment

• A professional, confident team player who is kind, charismatic and positive
• Detailed oriented. Passionate about exceptional guest service – ideally Forbes 5* experience
• 5* personal presentation – an excellent example for those embarking on a wellness lifestyle
• Ability to keep calm under pressure and perform well
• Fluent in English – excellent verbal and written skills. Speaks with compassion and empathy
• Passionate about wellness, health and beauty
• A holistic, healing approach to beauty
• A caring, nurturing therapist who performs intuitive treatments with heart
• Discrete and responsible

Additional Requirements

The above is a description of the general duties of the Beauty & Nail Technician Therapist role. Other duties may be required, depending on operations or at the request of the Meraki Wellness Senior Management Team. Given the nature of the industry, all employees at Meraki Wellness must be willing to work shift hours, including evenings, weekends, bank, and public holidays, when the operation requires it.
